Medion MD 86162 Media Player remote codes

I’ve got a Medion MD 86162 Media Player (AKA e85015, or MD86162) and I couldn’t find the remote codes anywhere on the Internet. I cobbled up some hardware and discovered that it uses the NEC protocol when I coaxed these codes out of my dying infrared remote control, and I got the following IR codes for it:

I found your article with the codes for the Medion E85015/MD86162 very informative

Did you manage to find out what was the overall device code i.e. the code number for the device itself , rather than the individual button codes

@dom noone No, and I didn’t go looking because (whatever an “overall device code” is) it wouldn’t help me replace a dying remote, whereas knowing the encoding mode and codes did.

My remote has just died and I cannot find a replacement online. When you say you cobbled together some hardware? Could you elaborate?
Is there a generic remote I could reprogram to work with the md 86162?

The overall device code is a single code unique to a particular make and model e.g. for an md86162 that is inputted to a universal remote control.but thanks for the reply anyway. I only just received it now

Great post as I have this remote. Can you tell me if it is IR or X10 as I found a usb X10 Receiver in the dead Medion computer. I may be able to use it on a openelec device.
