The operator of the iBackups website, Nathan L. Peterson of Antelope Acres, CA, was sentenced on September 8, 2006 to 87 months imprisonment and ordered to pay restitution of more than $5.4 million by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia for two convictions of criminal copyright infringement. The press release for the sentencing is available here.

BLAHAHAHAHA enjoy life in Federal (fuck me in the ass) prison, buddy. And $5.4 million? HAHAHA it looks like the scum of the earth really do get what they deserve.

It looks like the iBackups "mob" has been closed down. One thing you didn't mention about them is that after paying for your order
with them they would kindly "share" their serial number with you so you could unlock the software and fully install it. Now, I ask,
if this is supposed to only be a backup copy of software you already own, why the need to give me a serial number? I don't think it
matters how good their lawyer was, they're going to have a hard time getting out of this one, unless he pleads insanity, which I
think partly explains these guys - they were insane with greed and thought they'd found a way to get around the law. I hope they
go to prison.

So, how did I go with Partition Magic?

Eventually got there. At first I tried to merge my full D: partition with my adjacent empty E:. It didn't want to do it, kept giving me an error message:

Interestingly, the Google ads for this entry link to another retailer offering PM at an amazingly low price: http://67.15.16.118/partition/
